Off the Menu Now on Mobipocket

Off the Menu is now for sale from Mobipocket in addition to Amazon Kindle.  This versatile e-book format works on PDA's and smartphones.  Though it lacks some of the "pretty" features that the Kindle provides, it does a fine job rendering readable text in almost every portable device on the market.

We are also working through the two-week process of getting Off the Menu listed in Google Books.  Once that is done, you will be able to read a sample online.  Reviewers are more than welcome to a complimentary copy.   Just email us for the file, then let us know when and where the review is posted so we may link to it.

For those you who have already read the book (purchased or free-emailed), we would love to read your comments below.

Cheers!

First Sale

I just checked our sales report today and found out we made our first sale this morning.  (Insert standing-ovation-style-cheers here.)  If you are the mystery person who purchased our book, THANK YOU!  Feel free to post a comment or review here, even if it's not all roses and light.  If you've read the free pdf copy, please feel free to comment/review as well.

The coolest part about the sale is that we no longer have an Amazon Sales Rank of 0.  Off the Menu is now #7763!

Cheers,

Clever Amazon

I set Off the Menu's publication date out in the future because I had read so many Kindle-publishing horror stories on various forums. Either Amazon has fixed many of their Digital Text Platform issues or I am a brilliant master of HTML.

Regardless, our first title is now live and ready for sale at Amazon! If you have a Kindle, you can request a free sample through the product page. And don't forget, if you don't have a Kindle, you can email us for a free PDF copy. (See previous post "Ready to Launch" for more information, including Kindle purchase links and Adobe Reader downloads.)

Ready to Launch

Consider this your official invitation to Winsome Word's launch party. On 21 November 2008, our first novella for the Kindle will go on sale at Amazon. Our goal is to make new voices heard with little risk to the reader. That way authors stand a better chance of being read and someday selling a manuscript to "the big guys." Thus, the retail price of our books will start at 99¢.

Off the Menu by Dana Sudboro is our inaugural work. This 21,000 word inspirational romance follows Claire Boucher as she strives to open both a restaurant and a man's heart. This is Dana's second novella. His first, Fatima's Fate, was accepted for publication earlier this year by White Rose Press.

We realize the Kindle is an emerging technology that may be a little pricey in today's economy. So to celebrate our launch, we are making a PDF version of Off the Menu available for free. All you have to do is email us and include "free book" in the subject line. We hope you all will give us a chance.

Cheers!
